Vacation Bible School

We started our Vacation Bible School tonight. I know...it's later than usual, but was the time that just seemed to work best for the most people. School starts back next week. We have several families in the congregation who are homeschooling.

Here's to a great start for our Vacation Bible School. We will be having it every night from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The kids seemed to have a great time. We even have an adult class for any parents that bring their kids and want to stay for it. :)

Dan, Tiff and Abby's Trip/Day 3

Today we left the city and headed up for the mountains. We went to Mount Baker, and got to see some snow! Now...who can say they got to play in the snow in the middle of Summer???

We even got home in time for everyone to take a little nap. Then we grilled some steaks and had a nice salad and some fresh corn and strawberries!
Tomorrow we will drive them back to Sea-Tac Airport and they will take a plane back for home. We have enjoyed having them so much!!!

We decided to go into Seattle because they wanted to see the Pike Place Market. They also wanted to see the original Starbucks. If you're a coffee drinker you will understand :)

There's a tradition that you are supposed to rub the pig for good luck if it is your first visit to the market. Tiffany and Abby taking a chance at some good luck.

If you watched the movie "Sleepless In Seattle" you will probably remember the scene where Tom Hanks and Rob Reiner are sitting at the counter of a restaurant and talking?? Well, this is the restaurant.

We decided to eat lunch there too! The food was...okay...but the ambiance was better!

I don't suppose I need to identify this building...do I? Of course it's the Space Needle.

Dan, Tiff and Abby's Trip/Day 1

We have been so busy the last few days! Daniel, Tiffany and Abby came up very late Tuesday night and have spent the last few days with us. We have definately been on the go because we wanted them to see as much of our beautiful state as we could. Because we had been up so late the night before (didn't get to bed until about 2 a.m. The airport is a good 2 hours away!)so we decided to go into Anacortes to show them the Deception Pass Bridge. It's such a magnificent bridge that connects the mainland to Whidbey Island. You can read more about it here if you like! :)

After walking around Deception Pass, we then went to Washington Park. As you can see, the beach isn't anything like the white, sandy beaches to be found in Florida!

We then went up to Mount Erie to enjoy the beautiful view from there. Mount Erie is in Anacortes, Wa. and many climbers are able to enjoy the climbs without having to drive such a long way.

After our long day, we made it home in time for church. Daniel was our "special guest speaker".
