I've noticed that I don't read nearly as much as I once did...and I miss it. So, I have decided that I will start up again. It's something I've always enjoyed. It's so much better than watching a movie or the telly. I miss the excitement of finding a really good book, of turning the pages and envisioning the story inside my head as it unfolds.
I am about half-way through a book by Gwyn Hyman Rubio called "Icy Sparks". It is about a girl growing up in Kentucky with Tourette's Syndrome. I originally picked it up because it is a recommendation of Oprah's Book Club. So far, it's pretty good. When I finish it I'll give you my official opinion.

I was born in the mid 50's and grew up in the South. I'm 53 years young now. I'm a wife, a mother, grandmother, a daughter. But most importantly I am a child of God. I've learned a lot so far and I'm satisfied with my life most of the time...though I'm honest enough to admit that I'm not perfect yet. I haven't given up though!
